Housing Information
Habitat homes are affordable because they are built by volunteers in the community, making the labor expense next to nothing. While we do receive some donated materials and tools, it does still cost Habitat to build brand new, energy-efficient homes therefore new Habitat homeowners will still have a mortgage. Fortunately, mortgages with Habitat are able to be anywhere from zero interest to very low interest mortgages because of local, state, and government funding. Each applicant's income and situation will be evaluated to assess what they can afford.
